Job Purpose and Overview

The Procurement Financial Analyst I, under supervision, plays a key role in supporting the financial activities of the North America Supply Chain Team, including Procurement. This entry-level position requires an understanding of financial and cost accounting, the SAP Procure to Pay process, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, assisting with mid-month, month-end close, budgeting, and forecasting activities for the team.  

 

Work Environment & Travel: This is a remote position with a strong preference for candidates residing in the Eastern or Central time zones; however, candidates in other U.S. time zones may be considered. Regardless of location, candidates must be able to work Eastern Time business hours. Up to 20% travel is required.

 

What will you do as a Financial Analyst I at Dawn Foods? 

  • Assists with Month End Close, including direct manufacturing purchase price variance, buy/sell items, direct and indirect cost savings tracking, claims tracking, and operating expense reporting & analysis
  • Assists with the Procurement mid-month financial SNAP
  • Responsible for the weekly analysis, correcting journal entries, and reporting for unplanned inbound freight, tariffs, and detention charges
  • Assists with Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Performs assigned financial analysis
  • Responsible for reporting and correcting purchase order errors and leading training efforts to prevent errors from recurring
  • Works collaboratively across company functions and the entire finance team to reach Dawn's overall business goals
  • Provides backup support for other Finance positions as required
  • Demonstrates the “Dawn Values” of Team Dawn and supports the Circle of Excellence

What Does It Take to be a Financial Analyst I at Dawn Foods? 

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.   

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or 4 years of relevant accounting or finance work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Strong Excel skills, including comfort working with large data sets, pivot tables, charts, graphs, lookups, and IF statements
  • Understanding of accrual accounting, journal entries, and month-end close processes
  • Ability to analyze financial agreements and ensure compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile complex data sets
  • Ability to identify trends and forecast rebate income
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet short deadlines, and collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Accounting, and external vendors

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with procure-to-pay processes or supply chain finance concepts
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP or Oracle) and financial reporting tools, along with the ability and willingness to quickly learn new systems and tools

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is $58,730-$89,280 with bonus eligibility.
