Job Title: Financial Operations Controller

The Operation Finance Controller is responsible for ensuring the link between accounting/controlling of the company and the strategic development of the site in Vlaardingen in relation to the overall group strategy. This role is part of the management team of the plant and will manage the day-to-day processes of the operations controlling, ensuring that relevant controls are in place and adhered to. Acting as a business partner for plant manager, supply chain manager and any other operations colleagues, supporting local teams with finance expertise during forecast and budget process, during monthly closing and on CAPEX request. As member of the Operations Controlling team Europe, you will work closely with other team members and will provide cover where and when necessary.

This role is based in Vlaardingen and reports Operation Finance Manager Europe, with a dotted line to Controller Royal Steensma

Fundamentals of the position:

Draw up the Budget according to the structure lay down by the Business Group,
Determine and keep the costing of products under control,
Support the Operations and Supply Chain colleagues in achieving the objectives and plans established,
Provide the plant management with analysis of costs evolution, with corrective actions and preventive action plans in collaboration with budget owners in order to keep the financials under control,
Keep a close control on conversion costs, variances (Purchase Price Variance – PPV, Yield, Scrap, Inventory revaluation, Inventory difference, Other variance), Supply Chain costs and G&A costs impacting Operations P&L, and propose remedial actions when necessary,
Support Operations and Supply Chain colleagues in Capex requests and investments follow-up in accordance with group standards,
Make the monthly reporting according to the Business Group’s format,
Transfer the Business Group’s administration policy and procedures to the local company and control their fulfilment,
Guarantee conformity with legal, tax and internal requisites of the Group regarding the company’s economic and financial information
Guarantee the truthfulness, reliability and compliance with delivery terms of the internal and external economic information,
Manage the economic resources needed to achieve the company’s objectives, optimize financial flow,
Control the company’s cash flow
Be member of local operations leadership team and act as main representative for any financial topics,
Contribute on the integration of Royal Steensma within Dawn Foods organization, help in the standardization of controlling procedures and implement required amendments locally,
Act as local key user for controlling module in Exact

To be succesful you will bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, or related field required. Master’s degree is preferred
At least 5 years relevant experience in operations controlling
Fluent in English and Dutch (verbal and written), another European language is a plus
Excellent analysis skills
Pro-active
Advanced computer skills on MS Office (Excel, word, Power-point)
Experience using EXACT and SAP is an advantage
Excellent communications skills, oral and written
Ability to travel, i.e. driving, flying, international and overnight travel as require
Ability to direct and supervise

De Operation Finance Controller is verantwoordelijk voor het waarborgen van de connectie tussen de accounting / controlling van het bedrijf en de strategische ontwikkeling van de locatie in Vlaardingen in relatie tot de algemene groepsstrategie. Deze rol maakt deel uit van het managementteam van de plant en zal de dagelijkse processen van de operationele controlling beheren en ervoor zorgen dat relevante controles worden uitgevoerd en nageleefd. Deze functie treedt op als zakelijke partner voor de plantmanager, de supply chain manager en andere operationele collega's, ondersteunt lokale teams met financiële expertise tijdens het forecast- en budgetproces, tijdens de maandelijkse afsluiting en bij CAPEX-aanvragen. Als onderdeel van het Operations Controlling-team Europa werk je nauw samen met andere teamleden en bied je support waar en wanneer nodig.

Deze functie is gevestigd in Vlaardingen en rapporteert aan de Operation Finance Manager Europe, met een dotted line naar Controller Royal Steensma.

Voornaamste taken en verantwoordelijkheden:

Het budget opstellen volgens de structuur die is vastgelegd door de Business Group,
Bepalen en onder controle houden van de kostprijs van producten,
Ondersteunen van de collega's van Operations en Supply Chain bij het behalen van de gestelde doelen en plannen,
Het fabrieksmanagement voorzien van analyses van de kostenevolutie, met correctieve acties en preventieve actieplannen in samenwerking met budgethouders om de financiën onder controle te houden,
Nauwgezette controle houden op conversiekosten, variaties (Inkoopprijsvariatie - PPV, Opbrengst, Uitval, Voorraadherwaardering, Voorraadverschil, Andere variantie), Supply Chain-kosten en algemene en administratieve kosten die een impact hebben op de winst-en-verliesrekening van Operations, en waar nodig corrigerende maatregelen voorstellen,
Operations en Supply Chain collega's ondersteunen bij Capex aanvragen en investeringen opvolgen in overeenstemming met de groepsnormen,
Maken van de maandelijkse rapportage volgens het format van de Business Group,
Overdragen van het administratiebeleid en de administratieprocedures van de Business Group aan het lokale bedrijf en controleren of ze worden nageleefd,
Garanderen van conformiteit met wettelijke, fiscale en interne vereisten van de Groep met betrekking tot de economische en financiële informatie van het bedrijf.
Waarborgen van de waarheidsgetrouwheid, betrouwbaarheid en naleving van leveringsvoorwaarden van de interne en externe economische informatie,
De economische middelen beheren die nodig zijn om de doelstellingen van het bedrijf te bereiken, de financiële stroom optimaliseren,
De cashflow van het bedrijf controleren
Onderdeel zijn van het lokale operations leadership team en optreden als hoofdvertegenwoordiger voor alle financiële onderwerpen,
Bijdragen aan de integratie van Royal Steensma binnen de Dawn Foods organisatie, helpen bij de standaardisatie van controlling procedures en de benodigde wijzigingen lokaal implementeren,
Optreden als lokale key user voor controlling module in Exact

Wat vragen we van je?:

Bachelordiploma in financiën, boekhouding, controlling of verwant vakgebied vereist. Master is een pre
Ten minste 5 jaar relevante ervaring in operations controlling
Vloeiend in Engels en Nederlands (mondeling en schriftelijk), een andere Europese taal is een pré
Uitstekende analysevaardigheden
Pro-actief
Gevorderde computervaardigheden met MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Ervaring met EXACT en SAP is een pré
