PROFILE SAP RTR Business Analyst (SAP FICO modules)

The SAP RTR (Record-To-Report) Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, and supporting the Finance and Controlling (FICO) modules within SAP ERP systems. The role involves working closely with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, configuring the system to meet those needs, and ensuring seamless integration with other SAP modules or non-SAP applications. The SAP Business Analyst provides ongoing support, troubleshooting, and system optimization to enhance business processes. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of business processes in Finance and Control, and the ability to translate them into SAP solutions. You work in close cooperation with other SAP Business Analysts who support other SAP processes/ modules. Besides maintaining the current SAP ECC system, you will play a key role in the transition to SAP S/4 Hana Public Cloud version.

 

Fundamentals of the position:

  • Business Analysis, Process Design and Configuration:
    • Engage with business users to to capture FI (GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting) and CO (Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Product Costing) processes and requirements.
    • Analyze current business processes and identify areas for improvement or automation using SAP functionalities.
    • Design end-to-end solutions that align with business goals and SAP best practices, including development o functional specifications and detailed process flows.
    • Configure SAP FICO modules, including chart of accounts, fiscal year variants, GL account determinations, and cost center hierarchies.

 

  • Integration and Testing:
    • Develop and execute unit, integration, and user acceptance test scripts; document and resolve defects.
    • Coordinate with technical teams on interfaces and data migration tools.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues during testing and (post) go-live.

 

  • Project Management and Documentation:
    • Participate in SAP implementation or rollout projects, following SAP Activate or other methodologies.
    • Create and maintain functional specifications, technical documentation, and training materials.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver project milestones on time and within budget.

 

  • Support, Maintenance & Continuous improvement:
    • Provide daily support, including issue resolution and system enhancements.
    • Monitor system performance and recommend optimizations.
    • Co-lead the RTR Key User Community, together with Business Process Owner.
    • Stay updated on new SAP releases, tools, and best practices.
    • Identify and implement opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
    • Train (key)-users and key stakeholders on SAP RTR processes and functionalities.

 

 

  • Miscellaneous:
    • Align, support and keep close contact with your peer SAP Business Analysts with respect to system support, change requests and projects.
    • This role is to support sites across Europe, and occasionally travelling in Europe is required.

 

To be successful you will bring:

  • Bachelor`s degree in computer science, business informatics or comparable qualification.
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant professional experience with SAP systems. SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP S/4HANA Financial Accounting Associates (or ECC) is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of core FICO functionalities, including configuration of SAP FI sub-modules (GL, AP, AR, AA) and CO sub-modules (CCA, PCA, Internal Orders, Product Costing).
  • Knowledge of tax localization, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements.
  • Implementation experience of at least two full lifecycle implementations as SAP RTR functional consultant; experience with global finance rollouts and intercompany processes.
  • Know-how about Integration technologies would be an asset.
  • Reporting & Analytics knowledge: SAP Fiori, CDS Views, SAP Analytics Cloud fundamentals, SAP BW basics is be preferred.
  • Advanced in English (verbal and written).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong client-facing skills with the ability to lead meetings and presentations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in documenting business processes, requirements, and test plans.
