Compensation: The starting pay is $31.54 per hour and after successful completion of training they will progress towards the full rate at $39.43 per hour
Afternoon Shift Schedule: Monday- Friday 4 - 10 Hour Shifts; Rotating days off per week; 2:25 PM -12:55 AM
What Does It Take to be a Plant Operator at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problem-solving in variable situations
- Must be able to work well with others or independently.
- Computer skills helpful / Forklift driving skills an asset.
What will you do as a Plant Operator at Dawn Foods?
- Perform all required production and change-over duties as required through rotating duty schedule: i.e.: packer, batch prep, forklift operator, material handling.
- Operate equipment as needed for each respective function
- Operate in a safe manner according to Dawn Foods' health and safety expectations.
- Follow production paperwork instructions to ensure accurate, consistent, high-quality, and food-safe products.
- Responsible for maintaining the workstation and keeping it clean, and 5S organized.
- Team Members will be required to complete food safety and personal safety training on a regular, reoccurring basis.
- Perform other tasks as may be required and assigned by the Supervisor.
- Demonstrate the “Dawn Values” of Team Dawn and support the ‘Circle of Excellence’.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to use sensory perception for quality measurement of products.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move 22- 25 Kilograms and frequently lift and/or move 22- 25 Kilograms.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
- Temperature fluctuates with the season – colder during the winter/warmer during the summer
- Working around heavy machinery – hearing protection required in the production area
