Job Purpose and Overview
This position is domiciled in Regina, SK, and requires the candidate to layover weekly in Calgary, AB for one evening per week in order to be loaded with their weekly deliveries for the Regina, SK market. The driver will perform deliveries and pick-ups along this route, as well as those in Regina and surrounding areas. Route details are subject to future change, however historically 40 hours per week (plus overtime) across 4 working days, offering candidates an attractive work/life balance.
Monday- Friday: Dependent on route, average 5 days per week.
Start time: 6:00 am
Routes will not exceed DOT hours
Potential layover of 1-3 overnights per week.
What Does It Take to be a Truck Driver at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
- Possess and maintain a current Class A/Class 1 CDL license with a minimum of 6 months experience and a clear driving record.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language.
- Have the ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers.
- Add, subtract, multiply and divide. Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions or given direction.
- Move or lift product from 50 lbs.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Ability to withstand cool and/or cold temperatures.
- Must comply with IFS
What will you do as a Truck Driver at Dawn Foods?
- To complete daily routes as assigned in a safe and productive manner.
- Rotate customer’s stock purchased from Dawn Food Products and provide courteous, professional service to all our customers.
- Maintain proper paperwork according to D.O.T. guidelines and Dawn Food Products procedures.
- Accurately delivery all product minimizing damage and invoice error ratio.
- Maintain a high level of communication with the teams from customer service, sales and warehouse.
- Additional responsibilities may include but not limited to delivery of product via carry-in, two-wheeler and power walker. The proper handling of cash and/or check payments from customers. Vendor pick up for product replenishment.
