Basic Purpose and Overview
The Finance Analyst works under minimal management direction, coordinates SAP, Oracle EPM, and other finance-related system activities and operations with Dawn Business users, including development, maintenance, and enhancement of existing SAP Finance and Controlling (FI/CO) module. The Finance Analyst must be able to provide guidance and direction to peers and business counterparts to independently lead technology projects and initiatives. This role will be responsible for designing, configuring, and optimizing SAP solutions to support finance operations and business objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsabilities:
- Provide daily support and maintenance for SAP FI/CO, Oracle EPM Planning, and Oracle EPM Financial Close and Consolidation, ensuring system stability and resolving user issues.
- Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Financial modules.
- Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze gaps, and design effective solutions.
- Participate in the SAP S/4HANA migration project, including testing, training, and go-live support for financial processes and data.
- Perform system configuration, testing, and troubleshooting within SAP FI/CO, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Controlling (CO).
- Support financial reporting and compliance requirements by developing and enhancing reports using tools such as SAP Fiori, SAP Business Warehouse, Oracle EPM Planning, or related reporting platforms.
- Collaborate with IT and external consultants to ensure successful implementation of new functionalities or upgrades.
- Document business processes, system configurations, and provide training materials and sessions for end-users.
- Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring data accuracy and integrity throughout the SAP landscape.
- Deliver complex integrations with third-party systems (banks, tax engines, ERPs, local authorities).
- Stay updated on SAP best practices and new features in SAP ECC and S/4 HANA, proactively recommending improvements.
- Provides technical assistance in training all levels of SAP users; develops SAP user procedures and training curriculum; conducts training sessions.
- Identifies opportunities for improving business processes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop and deploy new systems.
- Executes impact analysis and assessment of business requirements and collaborates cross functionally to address any impact
Related Experience/Requirements:
- 8+ of hands-on experience as a Senior SAP Functional Consultant with focus in Financial modules including:
- FI: GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Tax & Statutory Compliance, Bank Accounting, Treasury, Bank Communication, Consolidation.
- CO: Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders & Budget Control, Product Costing, COPA, Material Ledger/Actual Costing.
- FSCM: Credit Management, Dispute Management, Collections Management.
- Proven experience supporting SAP ECC environments and familiarity with system integrations.
- Working knowledge and hands-on experience of the Financial integration with other SAP modules.
- Solid understanding of SAP integration technologies and tools (IDOCs, RFC, ALE, PI/PO, CPI).
- Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles, and their application in SAP systems.
- Experience with SAP S/4 HANA is a significant advantage, particularly in migrations or greenfield implementations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, finance stakeholders, and end-users
- Experience in custom development lifecycle, debugging and working with ABAP teams.
- Experience in Data Migration tools (LSMW, Migration Cockpit)
- Proven experience working with BAPIs, BADIs, APIs, middleware, BTEs in coordination with ABAP developers.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of financial compliance requirements such as IFRS or GAAP
- Experience handling integrations and customizations
- Experience working with 3rd party off-shore support companies
- Experience with the Baked Goods manufacturing and distribution process
- Ability to support multiple SAP modules
- Ability to support non-SAP applications (3rd party and custom developed applications
- Experience with SAP Integration (PI)/BTP
Physical Requirements:
- Up to 20 % travel.
Schedule: This is a Monday–Friday day position, 60% office - 40% home office. This role is based on Mexico City being part of a Global Team. Working in an Easten Time Zone (US & Canada).
