Job Purpose and Overview
As Accountant, you will ensure compliance of financial accounting and controls of the business within the location. You will ensure that all regulatory, statutory, legal and audit requirements are met in a timely fashion. You will be responsible for reconciling balance sheet accounts, managing bank accounts, cash-flow forecasting, supporting budget, month end reporting processes and preparing financial reports to meet tax and audit requirements.
You are part of the EU Finance department and report to the Accounting Director who is based in European head office in The Netherlands.
What will you do as an Accountant at Dawn Foods?
Your main responsibilities and activities will be:
- Monthly financial analysis and reporting of financial and managerial consolidation Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss.
- Ensuring the business meets all of its legal responsibilities including annual audits, accounts and tax return filings and preparing supporting documentation for annual audits.
- Producing monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc reporting analysis as required by the business.
- Responsibility for ensuring reconciliation of all balance sheets accounts on a monthly basis, both performing as well as liaising with other team members to ensure these are performed and any discrepancies are followed up and resolved in a timely fashion.
- Implement cash management strategies and produce periodic cash flow statements.
- Responsible for cost center management, reconciliation and control of the fixed asset register and the capital expenditure process.
- Supporting annual budgets and forecasts if required.
- Stadistics to Local goverment entities.
What Does It Take to be an Accountant at Dawn Foods?
You have high attention to detail and work accurately. You work in a structured way and can create structure when formal procedures have not yet been established.
Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field and a minimum of 3 years work experience in accounting
- Knowledge of German GAAP
- IFRS or USGAAP knowledge is a plus
- local expertise in month end close, reconciliation etc.
- Advanced skills in Excel and experience working with SAP
- Good stakeholder management and communication skills in German and English
- Experience working in a complex organisation, preferably an international matrix organisation
