Job Purpose and Overview
As a Regulatory Affairs Specialist (m/f/d), you will play a key role in ensuring the legal compliance of our products across the EU and AMEAP regions. You will become part of a collaborative, international Regulatory team and report to the Regulatory Manager EU & AMEAP. The position is based at our site in Darmstadt. Working closely with R&D, Procurement, Sales, and Customer Service, you will provide sound, practical regulatory guidance and contribute to implementing innovations in a compliant and successful manner.
This position is fixed-term and serves as maternity/parental leave cover.
What will you do as a Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Dawn Foods?
- You ensure that raw materials and formulations comply with national and international food law requirements, starting with enquiries from New Product Development (NPD) and Procurement.
- You review and validate product specifications and labels for new and revised products to ensure legal compliance.
- You represent Regulatory Affairs in cross-functional project teams and advise on the compliance implications of new ingredients and product concepts.
- You support the response to regulatory inquiries from internal stakeholders and customers, taking country-specific legislation into account.
- You monitor changes in EU and local food legislation and support their timely implementation within the product portfolio.
- You conduct regular training sessions on new and existing regulatory requirements to ensure company-wide compliance.
- You represent Dawn Foods in relevant professional and industry associations.
- You coordinate and support food safety and sustainability audits (e.g. RSPO, Rainforest Alliance, Halal, Kosher).

You work in a structured, detail-oriented, and proactive manner and feel comfortable in a cross-functional, international environment. You enjoy explaining complex regulatory matters in a clear and understandable way and supporting others in complying with legal requirements.
Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following profile:
- Completed degree in food chemistry, food technology, or a comparable scientific discipline
- 2–5 years of relevant professional experience in food regulatory affairs or quality assurance
- Strong attention to detail and a high affinity for numbers
- Experience in project management as well as an independent and team-oriented working style
- Fluent German and English skills, both written and spoken; additional EU languages are an advantage
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with ERP and PLM systems
