About the Job
This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.
Monday to Friday 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm
As a Sanitor, you will be responsible for the sanitation of the dry and wet mix plant and the upkeep of the grounds/offices surrounding the facility. Our Sanitors adhere to all sanitation standards established by IFS and Food Safety Policies and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and our Plant Safety Policies.
What Does It Take to be a Sanitor “B” at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
- Previous experience in plant sanitation preferred
- Ability to work as a team or independently throughout the shift
- Knowledge of basic Sanitation Techniques
- Ability to read and understand chemical labels and use safety handling precautions
- Good verbal and written communication skills essential
- Be able to climb up and down narrow ladders and work in high areas and small, enclosed areas safely
- Ability to work overtime with limited notification – weekend work is required
- Capable of working in elements such as extreme temperatures, flour dust, fumes, and occasional loud noises
What will you do as a Sanitor “B” at Dawn Foods?
- Perform all janitorial tasks throughout the Plant and office areas (mopping/sweeping/bathroom sanitation/office cleaning/trash etc.)
- Sweep and mop designated areas effectively and with adequate mop bucket chemical dilution
- Clean and sanitize all surfaces in restrooms, breakrooms, and locker rooms
- Empty trash cans, re-line with a new trash bag, and empty dump cart into the compactor
- Stock paper towels, toilet paper, and soap
- Clean and sanitize water fountains and sinks
- Clean and sanitize stairs and handrails
- Operate both ride-on and push-behind floor scrubbers as necessary
- Ability to work as a team or independently throughout the shift
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Physical duties involved in performing this position include but are not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, bending, standing, crouching, reaching overhead, and climbing.
- This position requires proper sanitation of the equipment, filters, tools, and mechanical parts
- Team members must also be able to lift 2-50 lbs consistently. The position requires constant and continuous support of production and other departments.
- Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut production, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, soy, seafood, and shellfish
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus
- Temperature fluctuates with the season – colder during the winter/warmer during the summer
- Working around heavy machinery – Hearing protection is required in the production area
