Job Purpose and Overview

As a Sr Product Developer within the Global R&D Innovation Team based in Dinteloord, you will contribute to the development of new ingredient applications and product concepts, with a focus on sweet baked goods. While the team operates globally, the majority of its collaboration and activity is centered in Europe.

In this role, you will screen novel ingredients from suppliers and evaluate their application performance to strengthen the quality, competitiveness and sustainability of our core categories. Your role is to gain and share insights which lead to new concepts or help to inspire your colleagues and customers. The team in Dinteloord focuses on vegan bakery, coatings and glazes applied to baked goods, mousses and fillings.

You will play a central role in early-stage, technology-push projects, supporting concept creation and prototyping, and collaborating closely with Product Marketing and R&D teams to further develop these innovations in our factory settings.

During upscaling and commercial launch of (y)our novel concepts, you will act as internal consultant to other departments such as Sales, Purchase, R&D, Marketing, Quality and Regulatory. This role involves broad engagement across departments and external networks, making cross-functional communication and coordination essential.

You will report to the Global R&D Innovation Manager. Some travel may be required depending on project needs.

What will you do as a Sr Product Developer at Dawn Foods?

• Explore and assess new ingredients from suppliers for potential use in sweet bakery applications.
• Test ingredient performance in key product categories
• Lead early-stage product concept development and prototyping, in collaboration with Product Marketing and R&D.
• Support the further development and validation of concepts in Dawn’s pilot lines and production facilities.
• Provide internal consultancy and support to product development teams across regions.
• Participate in technology-push innovation projects and maintain regular contact with industry partners and internal stakeholders.

What Does It Take to be a Sr Product Developer at Dawn Foods?

You’re a creative, hands-on problem solver with a strong passion for baking and innovation. Your solid scientific basis, eagerness to learn, sharp mind and can-do attitude make you a key driver of product success.

Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following profile:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science and Technology, or equivalent experience in a bakery-related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in bakery or related food environments, with expertise in ingredients or processing.
• A strong hands-on mentality and passion for baking and testing in pilot environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across functions and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English is required; other languages are a plus.
