Job Purpose and Overview
The Director of Strategy & Planning will report to the Vice President, Strategy & Business Planning, North America, and play a pivotal role in the development and execution of business strategy across the region. This individual will focus on the delivery of strategic plans and goals through strong planning and program management across all functions in North America. Additionally, this role will also lead the internal organizational change management program to drive achievement and sustainment of the strategic business objectives of Dawn North America.
Work Environment & Travel: This is a hybrid position based at our Home Office in Jackson, MI, requiring in-office presence a minimum of 3 days per week, with the ability to flex as needed, and up to 20% travel. To be considered, candidates must reside within a commutable distance of Jackson.
What will you do as a Director of Strategy & Business Planning at Dawn Foods?
North America Strategic Planning & Execution
- Responsible for managing the North America business planning process that contributes to the achievement of North America’s annualized strategic sales and operating income targets and ladders with multi-year strategic targets.
- Responsible for program management and oversight of prioritized growth and efficiency-driving initiatives that are critical for the delivery of strategic P&L improvements and long-term business model changes.
- Will act as an internal consultant to shape & develop solutions to key strategic issues & opportunities (ex., Transformation initiatives, M&A opportunities, etc.), design capabilities, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to determine resources & ownership, drive prioritization, and align/implement decisions to deliver results.
Drive & Enhance Organizational Change Management in North America
- Promote and reinforce the use of Dawn's OCM toolkit.
- Continuously improve internal processes and tools based on best practices & internal feedback.
- Oversee the execution of strategic change initiatives, ensuring changes are implemented according to plan and address issues that arise.
- Lead and Coach North America Change Partners as they perform change management activities.
- Share best practices and consult with teams to improve change management effectiveness and adoption.
- Lead monthly change partner network meetings to share OCM strategies, approaches, and best practices.
Build a foundation for future strategic shifts in North America
- Lead planning and execution of research (internal and external) and analysis to determine key strategic growth or efficiency areas.
- Partner closely with Market Research and Insights in the design and execution of research.
- Engage in key strategic decisions by developing business scenarios and financial business cases to drive leadership direction-setting and decision-making.
- Engage in ad-hoc strategy and research projects identified by the Dawn Leadership Team.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Does It Take to be a Director of Strategy & Business Planning at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
- A High School Diploma, or a GED, is required
- A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related area of study is required
- A Master’s degree/MBA is strongly preferred
- A minimum of 10 years of broad business experience across sales, finance, marketing, or business consulting/planning
- A minimum of 5 years of business experience engaging in strategic and business planning, and leading complex cross-functional initiatives
- A minimum of 5 years of successful business project/program management experience delivering initiatives to plan, including budgeting, scheduling, resourcing, and risk management.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience leading people directly and/or through cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Experience working in a B2B-related environment, with experience in the food industry, specifically the bakery sector, is highly preferred, but not required
- Professional training in Project Management and Organizational Change Management. Certifications in both are preferred.
- A Proven ability to influence and partner with leaders, external partners, and customers through a strong relationship-building capability set.
- Able to work in a matrixed environment; can quickly and effectively shift approach and tactics based on audience
- Strong analytic and critical thinking skills; Creative problem-solving and collaboration skills; ability to navigate ambiguity and fast-changing environments quickly and effectively
- Ability to translate consumer, customer, market, and competitive insights into meaningful business opportunities; excellent communication skills & storytelling, both verbal and written
- Proven ability to manage large-scale strategic initiatives and prioritize multiple assignments and multitask
- Analytical and data-driven - demonstrated track record of utilizing data to measure performance, identify opportunities, and make decisions.
- Experience leveraging Gen AI is desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation
$121,700 -$206,890 with bonus eligibility
