Job Purpose and Overview
The Facilities Manager’s responsibility is to ensure overall functionality and preserve the integrity of Dawn’s North America facilities. This includes buildings, infrastructure, and contents such that they function in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner daily.
The schedule is Monday through Friday with occasional nights and weekends. The position is hybrid; 3 days a week in the office, and 2 days remote. Up to 25% travel is required.
What will you do as a Facilities Manager at Dawn Foods?
- Oversee maintenance and repairs of all mechanical systems within buildings, including HVAC systems, office lighting systems, domestic water systems, fire alarm and building security systems, and electrical systems.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve issues before they become significant problems; respond to emergencies and incidents promptly.
- Monitor security systems (CCTV, access control) and take necessary steps to safeguard the facility and its occupants.
- Optimize the use of space; coordinate office moves, renovations, and installations to meet the needs of various departments and operations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to maintenance, safety inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- Implement environmentally sustainable practices within the facilities, such as energy conservation and waste management.
- Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to building codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Develop the 5-Year Prioritized Year Capital Plan for the Jackson Home office.
- Assist in the development of pre-project approval documents including project charter, project management plan, estimate, and milestone schedule creation.
- Monitor design progress and deliverables are met in adherence to established project key components.
- Lead project scope, cost estimation, and scheduling with internal stakeholders to align with project deliverables to coordinate bid package development and release for construction bidding and field execution. Select contractors and contracting methods based on engineering ways of working methodology.
- Direct and execute installation, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects.
- Manage and control project budget providing cost forecasts and cash flow projections through development of project cost and status reports on at least a monthly basis or as requested by project stakeholders.
- Manage and maintain project milestone schedules with integrated detailed scheduling as agreed upon in the project charter.
- Work with the Finance team to develop and manage the building maintenance budget.
- Direct, train, coach, mentor and review the performance of subordinates.
What Does It Take to be a Facilities Manager at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Business Administration or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) and 5 years experience in facilities/project management OR 10 years experience in facilities management, managing large commercial or residential properties, including building systems, budgeting, and vendor management.
- 5 years experience in leading facilities projects or leadership capacity.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, with a strong commitment to safety.
- Excellent project management skills
- Ability to speak to and work with all levels of internal customers and external vendors
- Certification in Facility Management (CFM) preferred
- Sustainability or Green Building Certifications – LEED preferred

Compensation Range:
$88,750 - $142,000 with bonus incentive
