Dawn’s Inspire Internship Program offers students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of the Global Bakery Industry. With over 100 years of expertise, Dawn provides a platform for interns to experience our vibrant company culture, embrace our core values, and gain valuable knowledge for their future careers. The internship program will allow students the opportunity to work within the manufacturing finance discipline supporting our manufacturing transformation initiatives with exposure to areas such as product costing, process improvement, and key performance indicators that support some of Dawn’s key objectives. The internship opportunity will allow students to work in a dynamic, ever-changing environment learning about various areas of the manufacturing process, standard costing process, and work with several key cross-functional teams in support of operational excellence.
Work Eligibility & Travel Requirements: This is a full-time position, working in a hybrid work format. 3 days on site will vary between Jackson, Michigan Corporate Office and Jackson, Michigan Manufacturing Plant.
Dawn Inspire Internship Program interns will benefit from:
- Opportunities to develop new skills and gain hands-on experience through meaningful projects and assignments.
- Mentorship and Networking opportunities with professionals in the industry.
Interns will be required to be onsite at the Corporate Jackson office from May 19 - May 22 for onboarding, and from August 6 - 8 for final presentations. These are mandatory participation dates for the internship program.
What Does It Take to be an Intern at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications for the Dawn Inspire Internship Program.
- Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree, with an interest in working in the Consumer Product Goods or Food industry. Current academic status must reflect good performance in relation to institutional academic standards.
- Strong interest in the industry or field related to the internship.
- Basic knowledge of relevant concepts, principles, and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Adaptability and willingness to embrace feedback and eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.

- Proficient in MS Excel
- Experience in ERP systems or other technical applications.
- Ability to work with and manipulate large amounts of data.

Compensation:
Undergraduate - $25/hr
Graduate - $27/hr
