Job Purpose and Overview

The Financial Analyst I supporting vendor rebates will join our North America finance team and collaborate closely with Procurement and external vendors to ensure the accuracy and effective implementation of vendor rebate programs. This role is ideal for candidates looking to build a strong foundation in financial analysis, vendor management, and rebate program optimization. You’ll play a key role in tracking, validating, and forecasting rebate income while supporting cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and compliance. This role will also be responsible for completing month-end activities for North America, including journal entries, reporting, and reconciliations of accruals. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proactivity, thrive in a fast-paced environment & have a drive to expand their knowledge. 

 

Work Environment & Travel: This is a hybrid position based at the Home Office in Jackson, MI, requiring in-office presence a minimum of 2 days per week. During training and onboarding, onsite attendance will be required, potentially up to 4 days per week. Occasional travel is required, up to 5% of the time.

 

What will you do as a Financial Analyst I – Vendor Rebates at Dawn Foods?

  • Analyze vendor rebate agreements to ensure proper financial recognition and compliance.
  • Track and reconcile rebate accruals, payments, and receivables across multiple vendors.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Accounting teams to validate rebate claims and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in month-end close processes related to rebate income and accruals.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards to monitor rebate performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support audits and internal reviews by providing documentation and analysis of rebate transactions.
  • Maintain and update rebate tracking systems and databases.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to streamline rebate management workflows.

 

What Does It Take to be a Financial Analyst I – Vendor Rebates at Dawn Foods? 

Below are the minimum required qualifications to be a fit for this job: 

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, or 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Excel experience, to analyze large data sets, utilizing pivot tables & charts, creating graphs, lookups, IF statements, etc. 
  • Understanding of accrual accounting, journal entries, and month-end close processes.
  • Ability to analyze financial agreements and ensure compliance.
  • Knowledge of vendor rebate programs or similar financial incentive structures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile complex data sets.
  • Ability to identify trends and forecast rebate income.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet short deadlines.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Procurement, Accounting, and external vendors.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A completed internship or 1 year of professional experience in finance, accounting, vendor management, or a related field.
  • Vistex and Vendor Rebate experience is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting tools.

Compensation

$57,300 - $87,100 with bonus eligibility.
