Job Purpose and Overview
The Senior Director of Finance, Supply Chain and Procurement is responsible for providing financial leadership and strategic partnership to the Supply Chain and Procurement functions, ensuring alignment between operational performance and financial objectives. By guiding the Supply Chain & Procurement Finance Team and fostering talent development, the position drives financial insight, accountability, and continuous improvement. The role is central in shaping decisions through data-driven analysis, safeguarding financial integrity, and enabling sustainable cost management and efficiency across the organization.
The Senior Director of Finance, Supply Chain & Procurement is preferred to be based at the Jackson, MI home office; however, a remote arrangement may be considered, with up to 25% travel required for candidates outside the local market. This role reports directly to the Senior Vice President of North America Finance and maintains a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Senior Vice President of Supply Chain & Procurement.
What will you do as a Senior Director of Finance Supply Chain and Procurement at Dawn Foods?
- Oversee daily performance of the supply chain and procurement finance team (analysts & procurement controller).
- Provide coaching and development to direct reports (currently five direct reports, some of whom are remotely based).
- Collaborate with Dawn supply chain leadership team & broader organization on long-term strategic thought partnership and operational initiatives drive financial & operational efficiencies to deliver on short & long-term targets.
- Direct and coordinate the development of the Supply Chain Finance Annual Objectives.
- Direct the financial performance measurement of Dawn US SC & procurement and related reporting.
- Develop and standardize daily, weekly, and monthly performance reporting, including KPI’s and reporting in support of Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts.
- Partner with team to develop warehouse & delivery performance standards while delivering insights for improvement.
- Partner with Commercial Finance regarding freight & delivery costs in the development of standards & key account bids.
- Critically analyze impacts of cost to reduce and/or driving value.
- Complete analyses and provide recommendations and initiatives for improving financial performance and decision making.
- Participate in strategic discussions to support critical business decisions.
- Ensure proper financial controls and policies are in place.
- Participate in periodic internal audits and annual inventory counts.
- Ensure the team delivers the required financial analyses supporting planning and reporting including capex planning.
- Review and approve major capital expenditures (CER’s).
- On-going special projects and ad-hoc analyses. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
What Does It Take to be a Senior Director of Finance Supply Chain and Procurement at Dawn Foods?
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field required. CPA and/or MBA preferred.
- 10-years of progressive experience in finance, preferably within a distribution environment.
- Experience in cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning & analysis.
- Exceptional ability to analyze financial information in support of the assessment of financial performance and support of sound business decisions with forward looking analytics.
- Ability to partner with senior leadership on long-term planning and operational strategy.
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Expert knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting, as well as rolling budgets.
- Strong orientation and insistence on principles of good internal controls.
- Proven effective leadership skills managing teams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially for influencing across functions and levels
- Proficient in working with multiple software applications, with SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to develop complex analyses and professional presentations.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Knowledge and experience in the food industry strongly preferred.

Compensation: Base salary $140,880- $246,530 with bonus potential.
