Dawn Inspire Internship Program interns will benefit from:

As a finance rotational intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in Treasury and FP&A, while contributing to strategic projects and learning about Dawn's corporate financial structure and business operations.

 

Work Eligibility & Travel Requirements: Hybrid internship - 3 days a week onsite at our Jackson, Michigan Home Office, with the possibility of additional on-site days as needed or travel to a Dawn Manufacturing plant or a Dawn Distribution Center location.

 

Interns will be required to be on-site at the Corporate Jackson office from May 18 - May 21 for onboarding, and from August 4 - 7 for final presentations. These are mandatory in-person participation dates for the internship program.


What Does It Take to be a Treasury & Financial Planning and Analysis Intern at Dawn Foods?
 

Below are the minimum qualifications for the Dawn Inspire Internship Program.

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in either Finance or Accounting, with an interest in working in the Consumer Products Goods or Food industry.
  • The candidate must be entering their junior year or beyond.
  • Current academic status must reflect good performance in relation to institutional academic standards.
  • Strong interest in the industry or field related to the internship.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant concepts, principles, and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Adaptability and willingness to embrace feedback and eagerness to learn and take on new challenges.

 

What Will Set You Apart?

  • Basic understanding of Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
  • Ability to learn and utilize other IT systems and applications, such as SAP, OnBase, Oracle, Smartsheet, etc.

 

What You'll Do as a Treasury & Financial Planning and Analysis Intern

  • Shadow and learn from experienced professionals in two key corporate finance fields, including: Treasury, and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). 
    • Details on the expected work in each functional area are noted below.
  • Assist in specific assigned topics and present findings to the team.
  • Collaborate with Team Members to brainstorm ideas and contribute to problem-solving efforts.
  • Actively seek opportunities to learn and develop new skills relevant to your career goals.
  • Take the initiative to suggest process improvements and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Demonstrate the “Dawn Values” of Team Dawn and support our culture throughout the duration of the Internship Program. 
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Treasury:

  • Assist and shadow in the completion of the 13 Week Cash Flow Forecast, including assisting in the European Cash Flow forecast.
  • Process wire transfer payments via the on-line banking platforms and systems.
  • Review and help renew loan documents with the bank or update/manage inter-company loan documents
  • Assist/Review the monthly bank deck and covenant calculation model.

 

Support financial planning and analysis (FP&A):

  • Gain hands-on experience with key financial processes while contributing to strategic decision-making through data analysis and insights.
  • Develop analytical skills by working with key financial metrics
  • Collaborate on cross-functional projects, partnering with teams across the organization to support company-wide financial initiatives.
  • What will you do:
    1. Prepare the 2027 Planning Calendar
    2. Communicate forecast and budget timelines
    3. Help the VP of Global FP&A with building a robust financial model for improving profitability and cash flow scenarios
    4. Work closely with other financial teams to gather insights and improve the financial model
    5. Support the FP&A Team with other financial analysis as needed

Compensation

Undergraduate - $26/hr

Graduate - $28/hr
