Job Purpose and Overview
At Dawn Foods, we are passionate about providing bakers with the highest-quality ingredients they need to create exceptional products. Our manufacturing site in Leeuwarden will see significant growth and extension of the product portfolio in the next few years. As a Specification Technologist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring that our product specifications meet all legal, customer, and quality requirements through this growth phase. Your expertise will help us maintain compliance and consistency while supporting key departments such as R&D, QA, Customer Service, and Procurement.
This is a hybrid role based in Groningen and Leeuwarden, offering the flexibility to work both in-office and remotely.
What will you do as a Specification Technologist at Dawn Foods?
- Act as the Regulatory Affairs representative in New Product Development (NPD) projects, providing guidance on product compliance.
- Review and maintain raw material specifications, ensuring data and documentation adhere to the latest legislation.
- Assess formulations, specifications, and end-product labels to ensure compliance with relevant legal standards across different markets.
- Support Customer Service by providing product information, regulatory guidance, and assistance with customer questionnaires.
- Manage and maintain the product specification system.
- Support changes to raw materials, final products, and labels to ensure seamless transitions.
- Conduct risk assessments for raw materials and contribute to both internal and external audit preparations.
- Other duties as assigned
What Does It Take to be a Specification Technologist at Dawn Foods?
You are detail-oriented, analytical, and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Your ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and communicate effectively across teams makes you a key contributor to our success.
Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following profile:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
- Knowledge of food regulations, including EU directives, codes of practice, and GFSI certification requirements.
- At least 2 years of experience in the food industry.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical skills.
- High level of digital literacy and experience with web-based ICT systems.
- Proficiency in English and Dutch is required.
