About the Job
This opportunity is a full-time and benefits-eligible position.
As a Quality Assurance Technician 1, you will be responsible for assuring product quality by testing the finished product and recording results of this testing. You will also be responsible for reporting all deviations to management which include any deviations from company standards or governmental regulations. This position also verifies adherence to formulas and procedures; GMPs must be always followed.
Shift Schedule:
Tuesday-Saturday 2pm-10:30pm
What You'll Do as a Quality Assurance Technician I
- Perform all assignments in accordance with established policies, procedures and best practices with specific adherence to SOPs, GMPs, IFS standards, food quality and food safety, general safety and correct use of equipment.
- Obtain product samples and test daily all finished products for compliance to the product specific and record the results.
- Audit and monitor the compliance to the GMP standards and record and report all deviations to the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Be a resource to production team members on IFS, food safety and quality issues.
- Tag non-standard batches assuring product does not leave the plant and report this product to management.
- Test incoming raw materials.
- Maintain QA records as assigned.
- Conduct any additional studies, audits or projects as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Report safety hazards to people or product.
- Experience with GMPs, IFS standards, HACCP programs, food quality programs and plant safety.
What Does It Take to be a Quality Assurance Technician I at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.
- Preferred High School Diploma and/or GED
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and other Dawn team members.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to problem solve in variable situations.
- Must be able to work well with others and also independently.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and follow safety precautions.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
- Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, wheat, and soy.
