Job Purpose and Overview 

The Warehouse Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of delivery drivers, shipping/receiving, routing, and managing the day-to-day warehouse and transportation operations for our distribution centers.

This is an onsite position at our Montreal Distribution Center.

Shift Schedule: Monday- Friday 5:30 am– 2:30 pm

 

What Does It Take to be a Transportation Supervisor at Dawn Foods?

Below are the minimum qualifications to be a fit for this job.   

  • High School Diploma or GED Required.    
  • Two years of transportation management experience with a full understanding of Transport Canada and Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators (CCMTA) National Safety Code (NSC)
  • Proficient in English and French. Ability to effectively communicate both in written and oral form.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Dawn people.
  • Training and experience in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and SAP
  • Previously used routing and GPS Systems (RoadNet, GreenMile, GeoTab) preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
  • Class 1 preferred.

What will you do as a Transportation Supervisor at Dawn Foods?

  • Assist Ops Manager in hiring of all transportation team members including all proper documentation completed and processed.
  • Always ensure compliance of all driver DQF records and vehicle documentation
  • Responsible for monitoring and auditing all driver logbooks to be sure they are maintained as required by Dawn Foods Policy and the Transport Quebec (Canada).
  • Ensure that all safety policies and requirements are being enforced and followed.
  • Understand and follow IFS standards.
  • Schedule and plan quarterly driver meetings
  • Ensure all vehicles are being maintained in safe operation condition by ensuring required documentation such as Inspections, Daily Damage Report Sheet, and VCR are completed.
  • Ensure that all vehicles are maintained and kept clean, and dealing with any truck breakdowns or repairs.
  • Coordinates pickup and delivery schedules for truck drivers.
  • Coordinate schedules with Operations, Procurement, and Sales to best satisfy customer’s needs.
  • Coordinate LTL and FULL load deliveries with outside carriers when required.
  • Investigate customers' complaints involving such matters as damaged items, driver performance, and delays in shipment, and make necessary adjustments within the scope of the position.
  • Investigate and report all MV accidents involving Dawn drivers as required. Follow all procedures stated in the program.
  • Direct the activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking vehicles.
  • Responsible for adherence to company policy and procedures of daily activity to ensure all employee and Transport Quebec (Canada) laws are followed.
  • Coordinate with Ops Manager the Transportation Department requests for vacation, days off, suggestions, or safety concerns as well as managing outside agency help.
  • Oversee the unloading of daily trailers from Brampton and communicate all discrepancies and damages to Brampton Warehouse Team.
  • Responsible for all warehouse functions, including order picking, receiving incoming shipments, tracking of chep pallets, accurately maintaining physical inventory and cycle counts.
  • Ensure that vendor pickups and customer returns are loaded in night shuttle.
  • Ensure Customer and 3rd party orders are served at the Warehouse Book delivery appointments with the customers.
  • Responsible for warehouse maintenance, which involves ensuring that equipment is properly maintained and ensuring the warehouse is always clean.
  • Other duties or assignments as needed.

  • Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to withstand cool and/or cold temperatures.
  • Normal setting for this job is plant/office.
  • Will be exposed to a physical environment, which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements most of the workday.

$68,100 - $102,150
