Job Purpose and Overview:
The position supports the Plant Manager. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all maintenance activities to ensure the safe, reliable and cost-effective operation of plant equipment, facilities, and utilities. This role leads the maintenance team, drives preventive maintenance strategies, minimizes downtime, and ensures compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
What will you do as a Maintenance Manager at Dawn Foods:
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs
- Ensure high equipment availability and reliability to support production targets
- Diagnose recurring equipment failures and lead root cause analysis (RCA)
- Coordinate shutdowns, overhauls, and major repairs
- Manage spare parts strategy and critical equipment lists
- Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technician and supervisors
- Plan workforce schedules, on call rotations, and training needs
- Promote a strong safety culture and technical discipline
- Conduct performance reviews and support skill development
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, and environmental regulations
- Enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work, and safety procedures
- Support audits (ISO, GMP, internal, external) as required
- Ensure maintenance activities meet quality and regulatory standards
- Prepare and manage the maintenance budget
- Control maintenance costs while improving asset performance
- Manage contracts, service providers
- Track and report maintenance KPIs and costs
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Optimize maintenance strategies
- Support capital projects, equipment, installations and upgrades
- Collaboratingwith production, engineering and supply chain teams
What does it take to be a Maintenance Manager at Dawn Foods:
Academic level required by the position holder:
Bachelor`s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical Industrial) or equivalent experience
Languages: Portuguese/ English / Spanish
Specialist Areas of Experience Preferred or Equivalent:
- Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams
- Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and automation systems
- Strong Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques
- Understanding of utilities (compressed air, stream, HVAC, power distribution)
Minimum Applicable Years of Experience and Area/Field:
- 5 years of Maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Soft Skills’:
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Ability to work under pressure and manage priorities
- Result-oriented with continuous improvement focus
Reporting & Working conditions:
- Reports to plant manager/operations manager
- May requires shift flexibility, on call availability, and weekend support
- Primarily plant-based with regular exposure to industrial environments
