Job Purpose and Overview

As a Procurement Lead, you will be a member of the European Procurement team. You’ll be the Procurement Lead at local level for sourcing raw material and packaging categories. Your main objective is to ensure maximum value for Dawn Poland and its customers, securing supply in line with business needs and following up specific projects. This position will partner closely with many other internal teams including sales, r&d, supply chain, finance and others to set priorities and formulate the best overall approach for Dawn to produce and sell profitably.

The Procurement Lead reports to the Category Lead Ingriedients based in HQ. You will be based out in one of our location in Poland (Poznan or Bielsko-Biala). We are looking for an experienced professional with potential to grow within our organization.

The Procurement Category Lead role can be summarized as follows:

• Ensure security of supply through adequate and timely contract coverage
• Deliver sustainable value to Dawn through cost reductions, savings and smart solutions
• Market analysis and creation of market intelligence
• Align and implement the global procurement commodity strategies
• Support new product development projects
• Provide transparent information on contract coverage, market developments and potential risks with supply chain, S&OP and management
• Manage relationships with suppliers and collaborate with key regional and local stakeholders.
• Lead the supplier selection and assessment processes
• Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements
• Negotiation, RFI/RFQ and contracting processes end-to-end
• Monitor contracts and ensure compliance
• Participate in the budgeting process

What Does It Take to be a Procurement Lead at Dawn Foods?  

You are an experienced Procurement professional with an analytical, creative mind, strong business acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, and a background in procurement of raw materials in the food industry. You recognize and capitalize market opportunities keeping a strategic outlook supported by solid data and analysis. Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following profile:

• Educational background in Business, Economics or another relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant Procurement working experience
• Background within the food production industry and a solid understanding of buying processes of materials/food products buying processes
• Knowledge of the industry and extensive network in the supplier market, especially in the Fruits market
• Fluent in English and Polish
• Structured in organizing work and tasks
• Ability to work and communicate effectively with suppliers and different functions in and outside the company
